In late August 2018, I hosted our fifth community forum regarding the Repat – our second forum since we won the election.
This latest community forum had an incredible turn out with approximately 170 people coming together to hear from the Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Hon Stephen Wade and the expert panel, Professor Warren Jones, Elizabeth Hobbin and Chris Doerr, about the possibilities for the site. I am grateful for the feedback you provided as part of the meeting, which now forms an important part of the larger conversation and community consultation process.
Community consultation to Reactivate the Repat recently closed on Sunday 16th September and approximately 1300 submissions were received.
As promised, I have made a lengthy submission on behalf of the community to reflect the feedback I have received about the site and what services that are important to you.
We’ve already reopened the hydrotherapy pool which makes such a difference to the lives of many people undergoing rehabilitation. The pool is accessible to patients from services across the south and community groups with a focus on health and wellness. Repat Radiology has continued to remain open. This wonderful service offers bulk billing radiology services to our community.
Below are the anticipated key milestones and timeline as we Reactivate the Repat.
- October-November 2018: Finalised Conceptual Master Plan issued
- Mid December 2018: Negotiations with Potential Partners and Cabinet sign-off
- Early 2019: Commencing of site activation
