Heritage Guidelines for Colonel Light Gardens – have your say

Heritage Guidelines for Colonel Light Gardens – have your say.

Like you and your neighbours, I care deeply about the heritage of Colonel Light Gardens as a beautiful, world-renowned model garden suburb.

In response to the introduction of a new planning system for South Australia, the State Government is reviewing and updating the guidelines for Colonel Light Gardens to ensure they:

  • are fit for purpose;
  • are consistent with terminology in the proposed Planning and Design Code (Phase 3 - Urban Areas); and
  • reflect the Colonel Light Gardens Statement of Heritage Significance.

I have been working with local residents, Council and heritage experts to ensure the heritage of your suburb continues to be protected and maintained. To support this, the Government is currently seeking  your feedback on the draft Heritage Guidelines.

I will continue to strongly advocate for and deliver the best outcomes for our local community and provide direct feedback from residents to both Minister for Planning, Hon Vickie Chapman MP and Minister for Environment, Hon David Speirs MP. I would like to invite you to share your thoughts with me, at:

CLG Street Corner Meeting with Carolyn Power MP

A project webpage, which includes a downloadable copy of the draft guidelines and instructions on how to provide feedback, can be accessed at www.yoursay.sa.gov.au. At this website, you can also book an appointment to speak with a Heritage SA officer about the proposed revisions on 19 January, 20 January, 21 January, 27 January and 28 January. Consultation closes on Monday 1, February 2021.

Now is the time to share your views to ensure what you love about your street and neighbourhood continues to be cherished and protected.
