Community Connections Newsletter Spring 2018

Welcome to your Community Connections Newsletter where you can keep up to date and learn about how your 54th Parliament is delivering for you.

During the election campaign, I spoke with so many people who expressed they had lost faith in their political representatives and had little confidence Governments would do what they had promised. I understand their concerns and am keen to ‘raise the bar’ in what and how we deliver as political representatives.

It has been about six months since the election, and I am proud to report that the Marshall Liberal Government is delivering on all its election promises. As your Local Member, I have been working hard to ensure your views are represented in Parliament, and that I remain accessible to the community. It has been a balancing act, separating my time between passing bills and motions in Parliament House, and enjoying my time out and about in our local community.

I have continued my grassroots approach having already hosted three community forums and a number of listening posts;visited the majority of schools in the electorate and met with residents face to face to resolve individual issues in the last six months.

No matter who you voted for, rest assured that I will be working hard for the benefit of all residents in our community. My focus is on being a strong voice for our community, advocating for positive changes for Elder and setting a higher standard of what it means to be a local representative. If you would like to share your views or ideas, or need assistance with State matters, please don't hesitate to get in touch - after all, I'm here for you.
